Apex 2022
Tony Franceschi
In His own words:
I love the sport and love having my family involved. For me family comes first, and fishing comes second; but it is a great way to bring the family together in an activity that everyone can participate in. Win, lose, or draw, I enjoy the journey. I’m looking forward to being a part of APEX. It is something that hasn’t been done before and something that can be a part of the future of fishing. All the guys that are involved this year are paving the way for future generations of anglers.
Hometown:
Granite Bay, CA
Highlights:
Three boat wins, three Angler of the Year titles in BASS Nation, FLW Pro/Ams, and a team circuit
Behind the angler:
Tony started fishing the San Francisco Bay with his grandfather. At nine, they learned freshwater fishing together. His first team tournament was in the mid-80’s. At 22, he entered his first draw tournament, a Red Man event.
In the boat:
Tony’s confidence lies in two main techniques, flipping and pitching
a Missile Baits D Bomb or Missile Baits D Stroyer and frogging. He enjoys frogging so much, he participated in the original design of the River2Sea Bully Wa frog. A peek under the lids of his boat would show off Dobyns 756 Flipping Stick and a Daiwa Tatula 200, spooled with 65-pound P-Line TCB Braid, or 20- to 25-pound P-Line 100% Fluorocarbon.
