Apex 2022

Mathew Nadeau

In His own words:

I love bass fishing! The APEX Pro Tour is the biggest, most coveted pro tour on the West Coast. Fishing among the small field of APEX-qualified anglers will offer an opportunity for publicity and will give me a great opportunity to fish at the highest level. Fishing has always been a fire burning inside me. There are no words that can really explain the feeling. Fishing has always been a huge part of my life. I can see that same passion for fishing in my son Velocity and my daughter Finesse. My wife of 20 years – Chelsea – is my greatest fan and support. Chelsea and I enjoyed years together fishing as team partners. I’m truly passionate and love the sport of bass fishing. With God on my team, I will be bringing my best game to the playing field. I’m hungry for one of those huge APEX Tour trophies.

Behind the angler:

Matt grew up with a fishing pole in his hand. If there was water nearby, he was fishing it. He purchased his first boat in high school and then went from bank to boat and never looked back. He chased the seasons – sturgeon, stripers, salmon, steelhead and always bass. Bass fishing eventually took over for him. He started competitively bass fishing in team tournaments, moved to a co-angler, and then began fishing as a pro. Matt anticipates that fishing will be a sport that he and his family will enjoy the rest of their lives.

In the boat:

Matt considers himself a finesse fisherman that has evolved into a power fisherman. If there is a ChatterBait bite, he says he will find it. His motto is in clear or muddy water, the ChatterBait is money, so they are always onboard. He also likes to throw square-billed crankbaits when the conditions are right. If he is thinking finesse, he opts for Yamamoto Senkos and Roboworms. He is equipped with Lowrance Electronics and prefers to lean on them for offshore strategies.
