Matt Shura
In his own words
I am a versatile fisherman. I am as good in two-feet of water as I am in 52-feet of water. I am as good flippin’, punchin’ and froggin’ as I am with deep spoons and drop shots. I have strengths; but I pride myself on versatility. That is what I try to explain to the kids when I am teaching techniques. I am looking forward to competing against some of the best fishermen on the West Coast in APEX. I think it is a great platform to promote our sponsors. The media and television exposure are what excites me about APEX.

Behind the Angler
Matt started pond fishing for bluegill when he was six-years-old. After seeing a Bassmaster episode on TV, he knew he wanted to be a pro fisherman. His ultimate motivation came when he saw pro anglers giving seminars on the tank at boat shows. He fished his first team tournament at 16-years-old.
In the Boat
Matt’s must-have is a drop shot. His go-to worm is a Roboworm or 5150 Plastics in Oxblood.
